Maria Svarbova

Maria Svarbova is a Slovakian photographer who takes surreal photographs of people in Socialist-era public spaces. With her signature minimalist style , she focuses on color , composition , and atmosphere to harmonize the body with the surrounding architecture. The reason why I interested in her work is that her work makes me thinking about Ren Hang ’ s work , which is one of my favorite photographer.

People who I admire

Andy Warhol Warhol is the first person I wanna talk about, as we all know, he was the father and the starter of America's pop culture. I deeply influenced by him to create my art project. I love the color he used to created his work and the ideas he wanna expressed. Steve Jobs From my perspective, I think Jobs not only was a businessman or a designer, but also was an artist. He learned traditional calligraphy when he was in college, which is same as me. I learn Chinese traditional calligraphy for almost 5 years, and I like to involve the idea from calligraphy to my project as well. My father My father is one of the most important people in my life, who was a professional interior designer, who inspired me a lot. One of the reason why I chose to study design is because of him. He also was a very talented photographer.
